Meagan and Austin, Robert Hall Winery, CA

Meagan and Austin had an incredible wedding at Robert Hall winery in Paso Robles, CA. It was so awesome to see the way they look at each other and interact - it made me really thankful for the gift of marriage, and excited for them to start this new stage of their lives together.

And I have NEVER seen such a packed and crazy dance floor...holy cow. You could hardly move around the room it was so active. EVERYONE was dancing and going crazy the entire night. Meagan and Austin had friends DJ, but these were no normal "friend" DJ's - these guys were the most awesome DJ's I've seen in my wedding photography career to date.

Meagan and Austin - have fun in Kauai! Your photos will be ready for you when you get back.

So, here's what's going on in the next photo: the coordinator (the fabulous Lara Chroma of Sealed with a Kiss Events) is telling Meagan and Austin that much of Austin's family is stuck in the elevator. I don't know the whole story, but I think it involves someone thinking it would be fun to push the emergency stop button. The fire department had to come, and it took maybe 45 minutes to get them out. What a story, huh? :)

Dana and Bryan's Engagement, Pismo Beach CA

Dana, Bryan, and I headed to Shelter Cove and Price Canyon for their engagement photos. Both are areas I love, and the field is one of my secret spots (okay maybe it's not secret, but I found it!).

Dana and Bryan were super fun to be around. Bryan asked me all sorts of insightful photography questions that went beyond what I normally get, and it was actually pretty fun to think about and answer them. One of the questions he asked me is, "While you're shooting, do you ever think 'oh no, this shoot is going terribly and these photos are going to come out badly'?"

I responded that sometimes sessions are a little awkward at first, but once people realize that it's more of just a time for us to hang out and less a super-strictly-posed mall portrait session, things loosen up and we always end up getting great images. So the answer is no - even couples who are really worried about the shoot being awkward or difficult end up realizing pretty quickly that things are a lot easier and more fun than they thought they would be.

Great questions Bryan, and it was awesome to hang out with you and Dana! Looking forward to your wedding. :)

Tiffany and Joel's Wedding, Oxnard CA

Tiffany and Joel had a beach wedding in Oxnard, California. We shot photos at the Port Hueneme Pier, and they had their reception at the top floor of the Crowne Plaza in Ventura. Talk about a view - they had a bird's eye vantage of the beach for their entire reception. Awesome. The weather was perfect for photos, too.

Great hanging out with you guys! Enjoy married life. :)

Becky and Justin's Wedding, Fresno CA

Becky and Justin got married at the Fresno County Sportsmen's Club, which is a rad venue. There are lots of trees, a river, a dock, all the cool summer-ish stuff that a person could want. It was a super nice day, and everything was really just about perfect.















Now that he's successfully married, Justin is turning his attention towards learning how to do gang signs. He's working on it. Believe it or not, this is progress:























Justin decided to do some LARP'ing while he waited in a backroom until Becky wasn't around. ;)





























































You know Justin had a good time, because his shoe was destroyed by the end of the night. :)

Steve and Julissa, Sacramento CA

Steve and Julissa are super, super, super fun people. Julissa is anchor/reporter for Good Day Sacramento where she gets to do things like ride motorcycles and go indoor surfing as a job. Not bad, huh? Steve is an anchor for Good Day Sacramento too. Their engagement was done as a big reveal on the show, where Steve was known as "Mr. X" until they revealed his true identity.

We shot their engagement session in downtown Sacramento at the capitol building, and then headed down to old Sacramento until it got too dark to shoot. Their wedding is at The Dolphin Bay Resort and Spa in Shell Beach, which is an AWESOME small luxury hotel near my house, and I can't wait to shoot it! :)

Brooke and Raf, Livermore CA

Brooke and Raf just bought a new house and have totally torn it apart. This first shot is from one of its rooms. I hope I get to see photos of the "after" part, because they've got some pretty cool plans for it.

We spent the day around downtown Livermore and a winery near Pleasanton. They were awesome company. :)
