Melissa and Ryan's Engagement Session, San Luis Obispo CA

Melissa and Ryan are two very special people to Courtney and I. Melissa has been one of Courtney's greatest friends since their first year of college, and Ryan is quickly becoming one of my favorite people to hang out with as we get to know him more. Anyone who knows Melissa knows she's about the best friend a person could have, and we're so glad that she found a guy like Ryan. Their wedding is in December at the Dana Powers Barn, and I am SO excited that I'm their wedding photographer!

WAIT A SECOND...how did this get in here?

Michael and Molly's Wedding, Pacific Palisades CA

Michael and Molly got married last Saturday at Temescal Gateway Park in Pacific Palisades. A few things that I'd never seen happened:

1) Their ceremony was by FAR the most to-the-point ever. 3 minutes long.
2) A tree fell onto the road into the ceremony/reception site at about 1.5 minutes into the ceremony.
3) Molly (and her bridesmaids) do wardrobe in Hollywood, so when Molly decided 30 minutes prior to the ceremony that her veil was too long, they got out some scissors and modified it right then and there. Awesome.
4) Molly's brother John officiated and did a great job. His pronouncement was, "Now by the authority vested in me by the State of California and some sketchy internet website, I pronounce you man and wife." Hilarious.

They had Bonnie and Clyde (their two dogs) be a part of the ceremony, and even had official dog-walkers. :) It was a great day.





























The girls decided to show me their best fake laughs ever.























OK, this is hilarious to me. Molly's brother John was the officiant, and when they kissed his facial progression went from "yay!" to "whoa" to "get a room" in about 1.8 seconds. I guess that's what you get when you officiate your sister's wedding. ;) The end of his facial expressions is in the photo on the left:



































Here's the tree that fell.











Molly's dad saved a bottle of bourbon from the day his daughter was born, and opened it on their wedding day and shared it with the guests. Really cool tradition.

Keri and Justin's Wedding, Paso Robles CA

Keri and Justin's wedding was held at Villa Toscana Winery in Paso Robles. I was amazed at how much they seemed to care about their guests - Justin was running around the whole night making sure everyone was having fun and taken care of, and Keri's just about the nicest girl you've ever met. I felt really welcome as soon as I got there. :)

Kathy and Susan of Bella Weddings and Events coordinated AND Kathy was the matron of honor - talk about multitasking. ;)

Keri and Justin are currently enjoying Paris as newlyweds!









I love the expressions on this flower girl's face in the next two. There were FOUR flower girls - super cute.

Denise and Stephen's Wedding, Fresno CA

Denise and Stephen had a rad wedding inside a rad church, and to keep things consistent they decided to have a rad reception too. :)

Sophie and Dave's Wedding, Castoro Cellars CA

Sophie and David had a BEAUTIFUL wedding at Castoro Cellars in Paso Robles. Their timing was perfect the entire day - the sun set right at the beginning of the reception, the moon rose just as dinner was happening, and it was a really nice evening out. I loved the feel of their reception - everything was served family style, and it just felt like a really family-ish party, if that makes sense. Warm and friendly. :)

Warning to all current and future clients: if one of you says, "OK now let's do a crazy photo" and nobody has an idea within 5 seconds or so, I will come up with an idea. Here's the amazing and talented Drew Barefoot of Cana Video Productions. If you're looking for a wedding videographer, look no further than Ben and Drew of Cana. Their videos leave my jaw on the floor and all of the guests with tears in their eyes. Seriously. Every time.

Julissa and Steve's Wedding, Dolphin Bay Resort, CA

Julissa and Steve's wedding was SO fun. It was at Dolphin Bay Inn and Spa in Pismo Beach last Friday, and it was an absolute perfect day: no wind, lots of sunshine, not too hot, and an amazing venue.

I don't know if I know anyone with more energy and awesome facial expressions than Julissa. It was so fun processing these photos, I would find myself smiling often and calling my wife over to see them. Steve was so hilarious and fun too, as you'll see below.

Steve and Julissa are currently enjoying themselves in Hawaii. They are also the first couple I've had published in print - they were featured in this month's edition of Sacramento Bride. More on that later. :)

Steve was HILARIOUS the whole night. Running around with major excitement on his face, doing a choreographed first dance....dude was on fire!



This was quite possibly the most hilarious best man speech I have ever heard. Julissa, Steve, and all of the guests were cracking up the whole time.

Oh man...here's the coordinator, Rick. Great guy to have coordinating a wedding. All of a sudden in the middle of the reception, he shows up with a mobile drink dispenser backpack thing on. SOOO funny. Everyone loved it. He was walking around dispensing Seabreeze shots.
